Listed below are national associations in selected European countries which provide support to survivors of sexual abuse - either in society at large, or in a religious setting only.  This list provides a general, non-exhaustive overview of services available and should not be considered an endorsement of these associations. 

Austria

• Betroffen - This is a locally run group of survivors led by our friend Sepp Rothwangl

France

• Stop Aux Violences Sexuelles - A  national association founded by medical professionals who train other health professionals in the treatment of victims of sexual abuse.  SVS has developed innovative therapeutic methods such as "fencing workshops" described elsewhere. 
• Parler et revivre:  "Talk and relive" - An advocacy group that provides legal and medical support to survivors. 
• Collectif85 - A "collective"  of survivors of clerical sexual abuse in the Vendée region.

Germany

• Eckiger Tisch: "Angular table" - as opposed to "Round table" - A  non-profit association that advises, supports and represents those affected by sexual violence against children and young people, especially in the context of the Catholic Church.

Republic of Ireland

• One in Four - Provides support and guidance to survivors of sexual abuse.
• Towards Peace - Founded by the Irish Episcopal Conference, provides spiritual support for survivors of abuse by Catholic Church personnel.
• The National Board for Safeguarding Children by the Catholic Church in Ireland - Provides advice and assistance for the safeguarding of children within the Roman Catholic Church  and monitors compliance with legislation

Italy

• Rete l'Abuso: Survivors of Sexual Abuse by Clergy - A victims' rights advocacy group - with articles of interest and a map of the country that is covered with symbols indicating where crimes were committed by priest.

Poland

• In an apparently earnest effort, the Polish Episcopal Conference created in 2020 the  Saint Joseph Foundation with two goals:  i) protecting the victims of clerical sexual abuse and ii) supposedly preventing future crimes. The foundation offers two services: the Wounded in the Church, a support and helpline and Report Sexual Abuse for support and a resource for victims of and witnesses to clerical sexual abuse.  

• Apostasy Counter, facilitates the process for those wishing to apostatize - and keeps track of the numbers. 

Spain

• Stolen Childhood Association - A recent association whose main purpose is to get the Spanish Catholic Church to to take responsibility for the crimes committed by its clergy.  

Switzerland  (French-speaking)

• SAPEC: Support for those abused by clergy - Offers support for victims, with a  few peer-to-peer support groups, one of the few associations in Europe to do so.  SAPEC works to establish a 'truth commission" to hold the Swiss Catholic Church to account for its crimes through "restorative justice", compensation, etc.

Switzerland (German-speaking)

• Abuses in the Church - A new association committed to defending those abused by priests.

UK

• Minister and Clergy Sexual Assault Survivors - Supports those who have been sexually abused as children or adults, by ministers, clergy or others under the guise of the Church.
• National Association for People Abused in Childhood - Offers for U.K. residents support for those who have survived all types of childhood abuse, including physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect.
• Safespaces - A free support service, providing a confidential space for anyone who has been abused by a member of the Church of England, the Catholic Church of England and Wales or the Church in Wales.
